Air conditioning is always preferred, but the show can be done outdoors if it can be in a shady area, away from outdoor distractions and noise. Also because of wind, there may be some effects that are impossible to do outside, and alternative routines will be substituted. Please let Mike know in advance if you're considering an outdoor show.
Mike does not use live animals in the show,; as an animal lover he feels it's mean to put that much stress on a pet. Also, some children are allergic to animals, and many insurance policies do not cover the use of live animals because of past problems.
Instead, Mike uses an adorable rabbit puppet named "Puff" that kids absolutely love and is guaranteed to never pee on the carpet! Puff is funnier, safer and way more entertaining that a "real" rabbit.
Basically, ages 3 and up for a general family show. For birthday parties, Mike generally starts with age 4 for the birthday child (3 is fine if the bulk or the kids are over 3.)
To get the best experience, we recommend at least 10 children, and there's really no maximum and long as they'll all fit safely in the space.
Either is fine as long as it's not during the show. Food and drinks are a huge distraction and can really impact on the quality of the experience.
Absolutely! They'll enjoy the show as much as the kids! In fact, its encouraged as long as they're well-behaved and quiet. At the beginning of the show, Mike will remind the adults (in a friendly, funny way) that the performing area is a "no talking zone."
For safety reasons there should always be another adult present at all times during the event to help with children that may need assistance.
Yes! Here are some tips to make sure your event goes smoothly if your using a restaurant venue:
• Make sure to tell the venue that you're having entertainment.
• If the venue has a private room, reserve that space. The show can get pretty loud, as the kids are encouraged to react and participate during the show. Mike also uses a sound system with music and sound effects.
• Let the wait staff know when the performance is scheduled so that they can plan when to serve the food, and clean up.
• Ask the staff to arrange the room so that there is a clean, clear are for the kids to sit on the floor. with a performing space that is out of a heavy traffic area.
• Ask the staff to turn off any background music before the show.
• Access to an electrical outlet may be required.
In most cases, any room with an open space for the kids to sit on the floor will be fine, typically such as a living room or family room. Make sure the room is cool and free of distractions like toys, balloons, etc. The fewer distractions the better! Mike can be pretty flexible about how he sets the show up and can easily adapt to most spaces.
Photos are encouraged! Video is fine as long as they are for your personal use only. Because of copyright restrictions, they can't be broadcast in any way (YouTube, TikTok, etc.)
Mike doesn't like doing just good shows, he wants every show to be a GREAT show! Your kids deserve the best experience possible.
